Summary: Claire's family struggles to give her the perfect birthday gift. Phil and the kids attempt to clean the house. Mitchell takes Claire to their high school hangout, where they realize their tastes have changed. Gloria and Manny pick up Jay's gift - an iPhone - and Manny falls for Siri, much to Gloria's dismay. Cam and Jay discover they are both making chili for Claire's party, bringing out their competitive sides. Tensions build as the family gathers for the party. In the end, Claire realizes that it's harder to receive the perfect gift than to give one.
